First chapter of the 17th volume!

The chapter started in the present. We see Hachi going to the appartment 707. She take the mails and see there is one adressed to “Mrs Ichinoise” (Takumi’s name). Then she see Shin who missed her mommy. He look so hot!! o_O Shin said the place look the same with all the things Nana left behind. Hachi said she didn’t find the other key yet, so she keep hoping that Nana still have it and will come back some day.

Hachi decided to open the letter with her name on it. Since there was no reply adress, she thought that maybe it was from Nana. She still believe that Nana is alive somewhere. She had a shock to see Nana’s pictures. Yes the pictures we saw that phorographer took in Germany. In Hachi naration, she said that every year on christmas, she pray for a miracle; for the night when Ren and Nana will meet again. I wonder why she hope for that. I thought she will hope for herself and Nana to meet again… why Ren?? Did something happenned to Ren? They got a fight maybe!? It’s the reason that she left?

So back to the past… Hachi came back to that restaurant and meet Nana’s mother. Hachi was very nervous. She was even more nervous when she opened the TV and see Nana in the show. Nana’s mother’s husband was laughing to Nana’s answers to the quiz. Nana’s mother was still evry calm about it. Hachi was still not sure if she was Nana’s mother or not.

Then we see Misato coming back from the party. She was deceived that the show had already started. Hachi was surprised that Misato was a big fan of Nana. She was in shock to know that her name was “Misato Uehara”… like the Misato she knows (who’s real name is May). Thinking about the past when Misato (May) said she must know everything about Blast, she realised that Misato (May) probably knew about Nana’s secret!? Then she see even more possibility that the woman is really Nana’s mother! Hachi understood that the familly don’t know about Nana’s secret. Nana’s mother probably force herself to be calm even if she might be nervous to see Nana everywhere.
After her meal, Hachi asked Nana’s mother to show her the way since she don’t know the town. Outside, Hachi told her that she is Takumi’s wife and Nana’s friend. Nana’s mother had some shock her eyes for a moment. Then she said that a magazine is about to publish something about Nana and her mother. Hachi said they should all gather to see what to do before the whole familly get involved and hurted. But Nana’s mother totally denied it saying there is nothing to do with her. Hachi insisted thinking about what Takumi said; that if true or not its the same when the media talk about it, its bad for them. Nana’s mother was annoyed and ask her to not come back.

Hachi was desperated. She really wanted to help Nana, but didn’t know what to do. She was about to call Yasu when the photographer appeared. He wanted to know what Nana’s mother said (he was spying, but didn’t hear the conversation). Hachi was scared and kept saying that she said nothing in particular. Then he show her a picture of Shin and Reira. Hachi was in shock. She beg him to not publish it. He said like the case of the picture of Reira and Ren, when she was a sacrifice, there should be another sacrifice… If she told him what Nana’s mother said and not interfer with the article on Nana, he won’t publish the story of Reira and Shin. Hachi didn’t understood since she didn’t know about the picture of Reira and Ren. He then told her about it.

Hachi remembered when Shin was crying after he broke up with Reira. She thought that if they publish it, their separation will be pointless. Somehow she choosed to save Shin who worried her more. She thought Nana was stronger and will be able to mold her destiny. Hachi idolised Nana and couldn’t see that Nana was very weak at that time. Even if she knew,  it was very hard on her.
Later we see the photographer talking to his boss. We learn that the girl on the picture is not even Reira!! It’s another customer of Shin who look like Reira. At the same time we see Shin going to that girl place for chistmas. Shin looked sad. I wonder if he choosed to see her because it remind him of Reira… its so sad. ;_;

At the end of the chapter, we are back to the present where Shin and Hachi are looking at Nana’s picture. Hachi is crying. Then Shin found the picture of a bar… probably the one where Nana is singing.
I wonder why that photographer is sending her all those photos. I remember when he talked to his boss some chapter before, he said he didn’t find Nana while looking at her pictures he took. Why he lied? Why he send the pictures to Hachi?It is because of him, Nana got hurt and felt bad to making her so weak now? He probably want to help her if he send those pictures to Hachi.

Since the begining of the manga, Hachi is looking for Nana and she is now getting closer to meet her. Does it mean its close to the end of the manga?

Its been ages since I last posted. ^_^;; I’ve been totally busy and blogging all the anime I am watching started being impossible since I watch too much. I thought just enjoying the show was enough. Anywayss that’s it for now… maybe I’ll change my mind. For now I want to only blog Nana’s manga since they don’t come out so often anyway

It’s been a while since I read the chapter 60…

This chapter start with Hachi and Search’s photographer talking about Nana’s mother. At first Hachi didn’t want to believe it since Nana’s mother look so normal. the photographer tried to suggest her to look for herself if its really Nana’s mother. He gave her the business card of her restaurant in Osaka. He said he got faith in her; that she wouldn’t reveal Nana’s secret to anyone. Then she kept telling him he won’t have anything from her, she won’t give him any informations and she’ll fight with everything she have to not have an article on Nana being release. The photographer said she has no power, not like she was Nana or Takumi. Anyhow, she decided to go to Okasa.

Back to Blast christmas party, they are having fun playing bingo to win Blast member personnal item. Near the end of the party, Nana made a speach to thank the fan. She thanks her new fans and the fan from back home to keep on supporting them. To hear everyone cheers again made them want to strike even more. Everybody was touched. At the end of the party, they were some bag with goodies and all the fan were able to meet the band member in small group. The two sisters will meet!!

So they meet, but nothing suspicious happened. Misato was totally emotional with the meeting. She was very touched that Nana remember her letter. She had Yasu’s autographe for her brother. Nana said she was lucky to have a brother. Yasu told her that she have him as a brother. She looked touched, but said that she want a brother with growing hair. Nana told her that next time she go to Osaka, she’ll go to her restaurant for sure. I wonder if it will be the moment she’ll see her mom… or she’ll see the article first.

Hachi is finally in front of the restaurant (Nana’s mother). She hesitate… then left without going in. She went at a hotel, but there was no room available. It was Christmas’ night. We see her leaving and Search’s photographer spying on her. Then we have Nana’s naration saying that songs were a relief for her; a way to survive. All she wished was money and credit. But now the only thing she desire is to be able to have the courage to fight.

As we know, Nana’s naration is in the present, when they are older and when Hachi is looking for Nana who is in Germany. It seems like Nana left. Something must have hurt her a lot to make her leave her friends and her lover. I wonder what happenned since they all think that she died.

Trapnest left Japan since last chapter and it’s now Christmas. Nana now have a cellphone and use it to call the ones she loves and who are apart from her. Ren was really surprised to have a call from Nana. Even if he wasn’t having an affair with Reira and made her quiet. Reira stay in his room to check on him, since he have a strong addiction to drug. She’ll wait for him to fall asleep before leaving. Nana also text message Hachiko. They both have separate Christmas. Nana naration said that even if they are separate, they can’t share the good Christmas memories together later. She thinks it’s good, as long as it maintain their relationship. Nana have become more positive and have a strong will to keep her relationships.

It’s now the day of the “Thank You Party” that Blast is giving for their fans. Misato and Mui meets. Misato is not going since she is now a part of Blast staff and can’t make the other fans jealous (since she was a fan as well). Their talked a little and Miu said that the other Misato Uehara (Misato #2) is also going at the Thank You Party. Somehow, Misato was really upset about it. “Why her? There is others fans than her” sais said. Of course, there is not specific reason why she was choosed. She wanted to go the the party to “stop her” or something like that. Miu remind her that she have a party that Misato have to go with her boss or she might get fired. She told Misato to tell her what’s wrong and she’ll help. I think it’s pretty weird that Misato new the name of Nana’s step sister when Nana don’t. She searched Nana that much?? Or it was as she said, that a fortune teller told her to use that name… but I don’t think that’s it. Hehe. So Misato knew, and now she don’t want them to meet. Why? It will be bad if Nana meet her step sister? She might be worried that Nana get sad about being remembered about her past. Or she might be jealous that her mom abandonned her and not her step sister?

At the party, Nana was wondering why there is only 7 old fans on 30 fans that at attending the party. They wanted to do the party for the old fans who been supporting them from the start. They are the best selling CD in Japan and the old fans left them?

Misato #2 (Nana’s step sister) also arrived at the party. Everybody thought she really lookes like Nana. She was really excited to think Blast will be performing few songs in front of her eyes. Of course, she took the first place in front of Nana’s mic. The band member all noticed her as well since they look so much a like. Misato was really impressed by Nana. Yes they look a like, but Nana has a very big charisma that she don’t.

Miu met with Yasu and told him that Misato didn’t say why but, Nana and Misato #2 shouldn’t get too close. Yasu didn’t understand a thing, but after some thoughts, he might guess?

In the last part, we have the cameraman waiting for Hachiko who is leaving to see her parent I guess. He didn’t say much, he just asked if she knew that Nana’s mother was still alive and just left. Hachiko was schoked and went after him. In the back, he had some satisfying smile. We don’t see more of this part. I wonder why he went to ask Hachiko? Why not go to Nana? What will be good to tell Hachiko?? Because Hachiko will go talk to Nana??

In the ending naration, Nana say that she wasn’t hurt because her mom was still alive. She was just very disappointed by the fact that she became some “boring ordinary woman”. “I’m really a pathetic person” she said.

I don’t really understand that last part. What she hoped that her mom will be? A criminal? An unhappy/regretful woman? Since Nana struggle a lot because she was abandonned, she might wished that her mom wasn’t happy.

The reporter are on Nana familly case. They plan on making on article about her real mother and her siblings. They think about releasing on the day or the release of Blast’s first album. I wonder if it will help or not their debut. However, I can guess that Nana will have hard time… since she is curious about one of her fan which is her half sister. I guess they’ll meet before knowing they are half sisters. Since they are suposed to meet in the Thank You Party. The next chapter should start with this event since in the last pages of this chapter, they are heading there. So they are investing her past. To know who is her real father, why her mom left her, etc.

It’s also Hachi birthday! The date is funny, it makes me 1 year and 1 day older than Hachi… hihihi. ^_^; Takumi already left for London, but all her friends are there to celebrate with her. When they decided to sing “Happy birthday”, Shin didn’t know about it since he never have a birthday before. Since it’s really easy, he learned fast enough.

We also see Nobu playing “Happy birthday” on his guitar alone. He should have go to her party. They could discuss like adult at Shin/Reira’s birthday, so I don’t see why he didn’t go. He should be over her since he has Yuri. If he don’t go, it makes it like there is still something between them.

At Hachi’s birhtday, they been talking about why Trapnest are going to Londo to record their album. Hachi explained that it’s because the weather in Japan is more humid so the tone and quality is different. She explained a lot of things and they thought that she really sounds like a musician’s wife. Nana was really surprised that Takumi would tell all that to Hachi. Did she thought they don’t talk at all? She also felt bad about knowing nothing about Hachi’s life in her condo. She felt like the distance between them get wider. She knew that it’s because she didn’t take the initiative to ask. She also realised that it’s the same case with Ren. They both don’t talk about themself to her because they are worried about how she’d feel. She decided that when Ren will come back, she’ll ask about Trapnest recording and will try hard to a happy chat with him. Ahyhow, she really wants to protect her pride.

We can see that Nana is trying to make some effort to strengten her bond to the ones she loves. She called Hachi without any reason with Misato’s cell, just to know what she is doing. She also decided to brought a new cellphone. While blushing, she asked to have a cellphone that can call oversea. I’m very happy that she is making effort to keep her relation with Hachi and Ren. It’s easy to complain how lonely you are, but most of the time, you put yourself in this situation. Most of the time, we are the ones who puts ourself in a cage. Probably to protect ourself for not being hurt. But sometimes, it takes just a little effort. Like just call your friend, go out, etc.

At the end in Nana naration, she says that she always been confused with the idea of “feeling at home”. Where ever she was, she felt like it’s never her place, that it’s not her home. But the apartment she lived few months with Hachi, was her favorite place, even if there was no elevator, no air conditioning, no porch, etc. She loved that place because it was filled with images of Hachi. She lived few months with Hachi, but she prefer it to the apartment she lived with Ren for some years? I wonder what is the difference between Hachi and Ren for Nana. She both love them in a different way, but Hachi is very special. I guess since she see Hachi even less often than Ren, she thinks more about Hachi? Hachi was a very cheerful characters in her life, maybe she missed that?

In this chapter, we had few pages with Nana in the “present”. We were wondering where she is since the last chapters, Hachi naration was about it. So here she is, in UK with a blond wig. The photographer who took the first picture of her and Ren… was there and knew it was her. Later when he talked on the phone with his boss, he said he can’t find her… even if he had tone of pictures of her. He asked him to give up. Nana probably die “in that sea” like the rumor said…

Then started Nana naration to Hachi… no more of Hachi naration?
It seems like its been a year that she is there since she said “It’s almost the time of the year again…” She said that the feeling of loneliness and emptiness became overwhelming and bursts out uncontrollably.

Then we all back to the “past” and Nana is having a live on TV. The day before Trapnest leave for London. Nana seems in bad mood? It seems like anything makes her feel very frustrated. She though that she needs to do something about it before she become someone she really hates.

That day Nana wanted to go karaoke. Misato told her she should go back home since Ren is leaving for 2 months tomorrow. She didn’t care, she just want to go karaoke. Misato suggest to go with Ren, but Nana didn’t want to be with only him it seems… so they invited everybody.

Hachi is shopping at Jun’s shop. Hachi took a lot of things and Takumi said to go ahead, she can get whatever she wants. Hachi was very happy. Jun was pretty upset and when Takumi was paying, she told him to not spoil  her like that again or she’ll be a brat. He needs to be stricter! Takumi replied “Understood! Okaa-sama”. Jun was a bit upset to be call like a Hachi’s mom. Then Takumi replies that today is special since he is leaving for 2 months tomorrow and it’s an early celebration for her birthday. It seems like Jun forgot her birthday so she let him off with that.

Later they were walking on the street and some fans recognise Takumi. That’s was pretty cute since now they can go out like normal couple.
Back to the karaoke, Ren was pretty surprise that Yasu has a girlfriend. When they were alone, he asked Yasu “What about Reira”. Yasu was a bit surprised. Ren said its not about the pictures since he’ll never give Nana to him even if he die. Then he said, in Reira’s heart, there is only Yasu. “What a traitor” he said. Ren said that Takumi marriage is a hot topic right now and even if she look strong, he should be worried. Yasu said he can’t be a little caring or she might have hopes… since he has nothing to give in return, he can’t do that.

I wonder why Ren looked so upset? It does affect Nana that Yasu has a girlfriend… Of course he doesn’t know for Shin and Reira… but I thought everybody thought Reira loves only Takumi? Yasu was her real love she talked about in an earlier chapter?? Maybe now it’s Shin?

Talking about Shin. His phone was ringing a lot and people in karaoke complained so he had to answer… he had to call back Reira… Reira looked very happy when she saw Shin’s number on her cellphone… When she answered, Shin yelled at her to stop calling him since they decided to not call and send messages… plus she is the one who asked to stop seeing each other. She replis that she really likes him and even if its only phone calls, she’ll be happy. Shin answered that if she keep on calling, the more he’ll wants to see her and it was very selfish of her. Then he hung up. Reira cried…

Nana was thinking that no matter how much she sing, she can’t calm down… other people just won’t do things the way she wants. Then we sww Yasu and Miu… Hachi and Takumi celebrating… then when she asked Ren to not write songs for any woman other than her. She thought that in the end, Ren will just leave her…

In the morning, Nana is having breakfast with Ren. They were not talking and Ren asked if she’ll be satisfy if he leave Trapnest and don’t go to London. If she’ll be satisfy if Hachi aborted the baby and broke up with Takumi. If she’ll be satisfy is Yasu will remain single forever and stay by her side.

Yes these are the things that she wished… So she cried. Ren talked about his wishes to be with her and to continu with Trapnest. Of course you can’t have everything your ways, specialy when other people are involve and they have different dreams. Nana thought it was painful to not be able to help each other to reach their dreams. She felt like no one is supporting her dream… she thought that their couple can not be happy… then started thinking that it’s over between them. Then Ren had to leave… before leaving, he asked her to not forget to get his Jump magazine every week. She replied that it was a really cheap request, but she looked happier that it meant that he’ll come back and its not over. She was the only one thinking it was over. Then she thought that even if he comes back, the result will be the same… Does she talked about her disappearing?? So she’ll leave soon? Before he comes back?? Poor Ren. ;_;

At Hachi’s, she was crying, it was very cute. Takumi said that he’ll come back in 2 months, it’s not like he is leaving for the war. Then she made him talking to the baby who moved.

In the end we had Nana naration to Hachi again. She said she really want to return to that sea and see everyone again. There was firework in the background. I wonder if the day she’ll disapear, she’ll be with everyone, watching the firework and maybe trow herself in the sea?? o_O  

About the present/past flashback… I now call the “present” when they are older. Hachi with her daugther and Nana in UK because when we see when they were younger, their naration is in the past. I’m sorry if I just understood that.  Pretty slow. ^_^;;

Back to school, Yaya was so scared to check the board to see if those two are in her class again… when she saw Moriyama, he said they are in the same class. She was so happy, was also sad to know that Seri and Moe are in her class as well. She dreamed that if she introduced her self to the other girls of the class, they’ll let her in the group… I was surprised that she did, but nothing happened… they said hi, but go back to their group.. seems like there is no place for her. Before the class started, Seri and Moe pushed her into some water with fish. Revange for the trip they say. She started to have an headache because she don’t remember what happened after Seri trow the bento… she asked them to help her because it hurted a lot… they didn’t and just left… Yaya returned home. She started to wonder why she lost her memory so much…

Later she changed to Nana who decided to give Seri a little gift by her window. If was a bag with frogs…
She found Moriyama and asked him to date her. He refused… then two guys stopped her and told her to go with them instead. She said to just shut up… Moriyama saw she was in trouble and fight with them… but Nana end up helping him. She enjoyed fighting them. Moriyama left her saying she should find something she likes. She endup hitting her head again… when Yaya came back to her sense, she was wondering what she was doing again… is she becoming insane she wondered…
