I went to an Cambodian restaurant sometime ago, I had beef salad and I had to try making it.

I checked on the internet for Cambodian and Thai beef salad recipes, I mixed some of the recipes to create my own!

Ingredients

3-4 lettuce leaves
1 cucumber
1/4 red onion
225g tender steak
2 tbsp fish sauce
2 tbsp lime juice (the juice of about 1 lime)
1 tbsp sugar
1-2 red or green chillies (or more if you want it hot)
Handful of mint

Serving Size : Serves 2

Method

Prepare the beef:

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat .
  2. Grill beef as you prefer since Asians usually keep it rare.
  3. Cut the steak into very thin slices across and put it a into a bowl.
  4. For more favor add all the beef remaining juice into the bowl as well.

Make the dressing:

  1. In another bowl, mix the fish sauce, lime juice and sugar stirring well.
  2. Add the finely chopped chili and sliced red onion in the bowl and continue stirring.

Dress the salad:

  1. Then mix the contents of the two bowls together, adding the mint leaves.
  2. Dress the serving dish with the lettuce leaves and add thin slices of cucumber.
  3. Add the contents of the bowl on the serving dish.

Serve and enjoy!
